Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, a UAE-based university, and Électricité de France (EDF), a France-based renewable energy company, have entered into a MoU agreement. The MoU was signed at the World Utility Congress held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The partnership is aimed at enhancing academic-industry collaboration with a focus on clean energy education and research, thereby according to Sorbonne University. EDF has assured that the partnership will enhance the UAE goal of raising the contribution of clean energy to 30% by 2030. Sorbonne University assured that the deal involves project-based learning, seminars by industry experts, joint research, and guest lectures from EDF professionals. Sorbonne University also assured that students will be exposed to site visits at EDF's large-scale energy projects. Earlier this year, EDF has teamed up with KOWEPO to construct a 1.5 GW solar power plant in Abu Dhabi.
