PureSky Energy, a renewable energy developer headquartered in Colorado, has announced that the Cape Cod Commission approved three solar projects totaling 13.5 MW in Falmouth, Massachusetts. The projects are planned on the former Cape Cod Country Club property, with 83 acres allocated for solar arrays and battery storage, and 137 acres donated to the Town of Falmouth, including conserved land, wetlands, and Round Pond. Restoration activities were designed with pollinator meadows and tree plantings to create supportive wildlife habitats. The projects were expected to reduce nitrogen runoff from fertilizers by 98% and provide $414,000 in water quality monitoring over ten years. At least 40% of the plant output has been reserved for low- and moderate-income households, guaranteeing 20% savings on electricity bills while creating municipal revenues and local jobs. Earlier this year, PureSky Energy and Eden Renewables have activated a 7.3 MW solar farm in New York, demonstrating continued regional expansion.
