Brookfield Asset Management, a global investment firm, has completed its acquisition of Alba Renewables. It also made its first renewables investment in Vietnam, creating the base for a new Southeast Asia decarbonisation platform. Alba Renewables had a 1.8 GW portfolio covering wind, solar and storage assets across the Philippines and Thailand. Brookfield added financial strength and global expertise to support Alba’s expansion and operational scale. Alba’s team, strategy and regional presence were viewed as key to building a larger clean-energy platform. With Brookfield’s backing, Alba entered a new phase that required greater discipline and clearer execution.
