Munich-headquartered BayWa r.e. sold a 127 MW solar portfolio in France, including the Greenberry and Fontenet 3 projects to Octopus Energy and the Amance project to Commerz Real. These sales were part of a larger 1.5 GW transaction in 2024 across different regions. Greenberry and Fontenet 3 were built on former military land and now also support sheep farming. Together with other nearby solar farms, they form a 136 MW solar hub. Amance Solar Park, a 47 MW PV project in France, was acquired by Commerz Real. The Amance project is being built on land with poor soil quality and will help restore biodiversity while allowing sheep grazing. BayWa r.e. will continue managing these solar farms and sees France as an important market for future projects.
