Astronergy, a China-based photovoltaic module manufacturer, has secured a 2,050 MW supply contract from China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) through centralized procurement. According to Astronergy, the modules will be used in CNPC’s hybrid “PV + oilfield” systems to support low-carbon energy development. CNPC, China’s largest oil and gas producer, is integrating solar power across its traditional operations to reduce emissions. Astronergy said that this award adds to nearly 4 GW of CNPC projects it has won in the past two years. As per Astronergy, the repeated contract wins reflect its engineering capabilities, PV technology strength, and supply chain reliability. Recently, 471 MW of Astronergy’s ASTRO N5 modules were used in a hybrid solar plant by China’s Three Gorges Corporation.
