AIKO, a China-based solar cell manufacturer, has announced that its n-type ABC (All Back Contact) cells powered leading teams at the 2025 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Brunel Solar Team was declared the winner, while Solar Team Twente secured second place after completing the 3,000 km Darwin to Adelaide race. AIKO has stated that both teams used its n-type ABC modules, which have achieved more than 27% mass-production efficiency. The cells were engineered with an improved temperature coefficient and microcrack resistance, which ensured consistent energy yield under changing Australian conditions. According to Brunel and Twente representatives, the technology has provided reliability and efficiency advantages throughout the demanding competition. AIKO confirmed it was a sponsor of both teams and said the result has demonstrated the capabilities of its back-contact technology. Earlier this year, AIKO also introduced its 500 W Infinite ABC solar module under a 2 sq mts design for advanced applications.
