ABO Energy, a Germany-based renewable energy developer, has secured tariff approval from the Energy Regulatory Office for its first Polish solar project, the 17 MW Gubin solar park in Lubuskie. The project is under construction on a former military range and is expected to supply electricity to more than 6,000 households. According to ABO Energy, grid connection approval was already granted earlier, which was a critical step before the tariff award. ABO Energy Polska, which has been active since 2019 and is operating from its Łódź office since 2020 with 18 employees, is engaged in solar, wind, and battery projects exceeding 1 GW capacity. ABO Energy Polska has secured grid connections for three additional solar parks and has submitted applications for three standalone battery projects, including a 257 MW facility, while wind development has remained limited due to Poland’s 10H distance regulation. Earlier this year, ABO Energy had completed a 50 MW turnkey solar park in central Spain, strengthening its European portfolio.
