Germany-based RE company, ABO Energy has recently connected its 50 MW Valdezorita solar park to the grid in Castile-La Mancha, Spain, marking its first turnkey project in the country. The plant is expected to generate around 100 GW annually and was sold to a fund advised by EB – Sustainable Investment Management GmbH. A long-term power purchase agreement was signed with a major US internet company to supply electricity to its data center. ABO Energy, active in Spain since 2001, will remain responsible for the solar park’s operation. The company has delivered 1.4 GW of projects in Spain to date and is currently focusing its development strategy on wind and battery storage, with a 700 MW project pipeline underway.
