US headquartered Madison Energy Infrastructure (MEI) and Stafford County Public Schools have unveiled what they call ‘Virginia’s largest school PV array’ on the rooftop of North Stafford High School. MEI started installing the 1.8 MW system in February this year, consisting of 3,300 PV panels. It is expected to reduce the school system’s electricity costs by $2.8 million over 25 years. Over its operational lifetime, the PV array will generate 54 million kWh of clean energy and offset 41,583 tons of CO2 emissions. MEI claims a clean energy portfolio of over 500 MW across more than 25 states in the US.
