LONGi, a China-based solar technology provider, and Senergia, a Swedish solar wholesaler, have collaborated with Project Vita to upgrade the maternity clinic in Linga Linga, Mozambique. According to LONGi, the company supplied a solar-powered freshwater system, including panels and a water tower, to address the region’s severe clean water shortage. This system powers a water pump that continuously fills the clinic’s tank, enhancing sanitation and hygiene. Since its implementation in May 2024, the clinic has facilitated 58 births. Project Vita, founded by Michel Olofsson, emphasizes the critical role of renewable energy in rural areas. With 99% of Linga Linga lacking electricity, this solar-powered system is a significant advancement in improving health outcomes and reducing infection risks.
