In Hokkaido’s challenging climate, traditional rooftop solar systems face significant efficiency issues due to heavy snowfall. Snow coverage can reduce power output by up to 90% with an ideal installation angle of 38°, while a steeper angle of 75° still results in a 50% decrease in efficiency. Local safety regulations complicate rooftop snow removal. LONGi addresses these challenges with its 2.58 kW Hi-MO X6 All-Black solar modules, which are vertically installed to prevent snow accumulation and simplify maintenance. The Hi-MO X6 modules, featuring HPBC cell technology, enhance light absorption and power conversion efficiency, says LONGi. Its all-black design also integrates well with building facades, providing both modern aesthetics and efficient power generation tailored to Hokkaido’s unique climate.
