LONGi Green Energy achieves 27.09% efficiency in silicon heterojunction back-contact solar cells, surpassing the 26.81% efficiency record announced in November 2022. The breakthrough, certified by the Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin, Germany involves an all-laser patterning process developed in-house, addressing cost concerns associated with photolithography. Notably, the technology reduces reliance on transparent conductive oxide layers compared to bifacial heterojunction solar cells.
