Lightsource bp has recently achieved commercial operation of its 40MW Kotuń project in Poland. Since establishing operations in late 2020, Lightsource bp has made significant progress towards a 3.2GW project pipeline and has developed a strong presence in the country. The company now has a team of over 30 professionals. The Kotuń solar project marks the beginning of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Microsoft, signed in September last year, which supports Microsoft's goal of achieving 100% renewable energy supply by 2025. This project represents Lightsource bp's first major contribution to Poland's decarbonisation efforts and further drives the decarbonisation of the Polish grid.
