Lightsource bp expands with 40 MW Kotuń project

Lightsource bp has recently achieved commercial operation of its 40 MW Kotuń project in Poland. Since establishing operations in late 2020, Lightsource bp has made significant progress towards a 3.2 GW project pipeline and has developed a strong presence in the country. The company now has a team of over 30 professionals. The Kotuń solar project marks the beginning of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Microsoft, signed in September last year, which supports Microsoft’s goal of achieving 100% renewable energy supply by 2025. This project represents Lightsource bp’s first major contribution to Poland’s decarbonisation efforts and further drives the decarbonisation of the Polish grid.
