UK-based Lightsource bp secured a structured equity investment from HASI for two utility-scale solar projects in Texas, totaling 288 MW. The portfolio includes the 163 MW Starr Solar project in Starr County and the 125 MW Second Division Solar project in Brazoria County. Expected to reach commercial operation by the end of 2024, these projects will supply renewable energy to power over 50,000 homes and offset 381,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually. Qualifying for benefits under the Inflation Reduction Act, these projects utilize U.S.-manufactured solar panels from First Solar and trackers from Array Technologies, supporting both local energy resilience and American manufacturing.
