Waaree Energies Ltd., a renewable energy company based in India, opened its 5.4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Chikhli, Gujarat on March 29, 2025. The inauguration was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and C. R. Patil, and other senior officials. The plant spanned 150 acres. It had a built-up area of 101 acres. The facility featured high-efficiency solar cell technology. It focused on research and engineering. It created over 9,500 direct jobs and generated around 30,000 indirect jobs. It supported India’s 500 GW renewable energy target for 2030. Recently, PV Tech has awarded Waaree Energies an ‘A’ rating.
