India-headquartered NHPC has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a 107 MW solar capacity at its Karnisar Solar Power Plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The company also completed the trial run of Unit 4 (200 MW) of the Parbati-II Hydro Electric Project (4x200 MW) in Himachal Pradesh on 13 April 2025. Commercial operations for Units 1, 2, and 3 (each 200 MW) had already started from 1 April 2025. This solar unit was part of the plant’s total planned 300 MW capacity. Separately, NHPC Limited also invited bids for 1.2 GW of solar capacity and 600 MW of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
