Hecate Energy has chosen Bechtel to lead the design and construction of Sunfish Solar 2, a 360 MW solar power facility in Calhoun County, Michigan. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this project is part of Hecate’s larger 1 GW development and will help Michigan reach its goal of generating 50% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030. The facility will use 620,000 bifacial solar panels across 1,300 acres to maximize energy production. Once operational, Sunfish Solar 2 will power approximately 183,500 homes and offset 1.5 million tons of co2 emissions annually, equivalent to removing over 300,000 vehicles from the roads.
