Hecate Energy has chosen Bechtel to lead the design and construction of Sunfish Solar 2, a 360MW solar power facility in Calhoun County, Michigan. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this project is part of Hecate’s larger 1GW development and will help Michigan reach its goal of generating 50% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030. The facility will use 620,000 bifacial solar panels across 1,300 acres to maximize energy production. Once operational, Sunfish Solar 2 will power approximately 183,500 homes and offset 1.5 million tons of co2 emissions annually, equivalent to removing over 300,000 vehicles from the roads.
