Grenergy and Ingeteam partner for 1 GW PV-battery venture

Ingeteam has been chosen by Grenergy as its technology partner for the Oasis de Atacama project, set to become the world’s largest battery storage facility. The project, located in the Chilean Atacama Desert, will consist of five phases integrating PV and storage. Ingeteam will supply power conversion and control technology for both solar and battery systems. The plant is anticipated to be completed in the next 36 months and to offer unprecedented figures of 1 GW power and 4.1 GWh storage capacity. It matches the yearly energy consumption of 145,700 Chilean households and aids in cutting annual CO₂ emissions by over 147,000 tons.
