Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure, AC Power, and GreenSpark Solar announced the commercial operation of a 7 MW community solar landfill project in Fort Edward, NY. This project, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 25th, will provide clean energy to over 800 households. According to the company, the initiative aligns with Fort Edward’s strategic goals by increasing municipal revenues through land lease and Payment In Lieu Of Taxes agreements, reducing residents’ energy bills, utilizing inoperable municipal land, and supporting New York State’s objective of achieving 70% renewable energy by 2030. Developed by AC Power and built by GreenSpark Solar, the project repurposed a 58-acre landfill site, requiring significant environmental management post-closure. This addition expands KSI’s portfolio to over 75 solar projects.
