The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested €100 million in Green Genius, a leading renewable energy developer in European, to support its European growth strategy. Once approved by the authorities, the EBRD will become a minority shareholder in the company. The investment will develop over 2 GW of renewable energy, expanding Green Genius’ portfolio across EU markets. As a subsidiary of Modus Group, Green Genius claims to have developed 2.7 GW of renewable energy projects and completed 549 MW worth of projects. The company is transitioning from a developer to an independent power producer. The EBRD will also support Green Genius in enhancing its ESG standards and supply chain management. Last year, the EBRD delivered a record €6.5 billion in green economy finance.
