The Government of The Gambia, in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MoPE) and the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC), has invited firms to submit applications for the development of a 50 MW PV power park in Soma, Lower River Region, The Gambia. The project, supported by the World Bank, aims to leverage a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with an Independent Power Producer (IPP) responsible for financing, construction, and operation for a 25-year contract. The solar park, for future expansion to 150 MW, will also feature a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to meet national energy demands. Interested firms must purchase a Request for Qualification document for $500 (US dollars) and apply by November 14, 2024, at noon. Contact information is provided for firms needing further details.
