GAIL, AMG sign MoU for solar-wind projects in India

Netherland headquartered AM Green B.V. (AMG) and GAIL (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on developing solar-wind hybrid renewable energy projects across India. The partnership aims to focus on the long-term supply with GAIL providing 350 KTA of CO2 from its gas processing plants to produce eMethanol, a sustainable fuel. The renewable energy projects could generate up to 2.5 GW of power and include the use of Greenko’s Pump Storage Projects for continuous power supply. Additionally, AM Green plans to accelerate green ammonia production, targeting 5 MTPA by 2030, contributing to both India’s and Europe’s green hydrogen objectives. GAIL will also have an equity option in the eMethanol project.
