FuturaSun’s FENICE project in Italy received a €21 million grant from the EU Innovation Fund to establish a high-efficiency photovoltaic module plant. Named “FuturaSun advancEd italiaN manufacturIng CEntre” (FENICE), the facility will produce over 7.6 GW of solar modules within its first decade, supporting Europe’s renewable energy transition and reducing reliance on imports. Featuring advanced n-type and xBC technology, the plant is expected to generate 1.4 GW annually, creating 250 direct and 380 indirect jobs. The FENICE project, also supporting research and collaboration with universities, aims to enhance Europe’s solar supply chain resilience. The next step includes finalizing a Grant Agreement with CINEA to secure funding.
