Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA), in collaboration with 12 municipal utilities and Origis Energy, completed the Rice Creek Solar Energy Center in Putnam County, Florida. The facility provides 75 MW (AC) of electricity through 213,000 solar panels, powering approximately 14,000 homes. Origis Energy built, owns, and operates the site, while FMPA coordinates the project. Rice Creek Solar is the third site in the Florida Municipal Solar Project, with utilities like Beaches Energy, Fort Pierce Utilities, and others receiving power. This is the first solar project for Havana, New Smyrna Beach, and Newberry. Construction of a fourth site, Whistling Duck Solar, began in late 2024, with the project set to expand to seven sites, generating 525 MW AC) in total.
