Ireland-based Flogas announced plans to implement €50 million (~$54.49 million) worth of solar energy projects for large Irish businesses through its Solar as a Service (SaaS) model over the next five years. In partnership with AEI and Wewise, Flogas will manage the installation and maintenance of 50 MW of solar PV capacity, expected to generate approximately 50 GWh annually sufficient to power 12,000 homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 11,000 tons. This approach enables companies to use rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems without upfront capital investment, aiming to lower energy costs and carbon emissions. The initiative aligns with DCC plc’s strategy to reduce customer carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.
