First Graphene Partners with Halocell for perovskite solar cells

Australia’s Graphene products supplier First Graphene Limited has entered into a two-year commercial agreement with Halocell Energy, a perovskite solar cell developer, to supply its graphene product, PureGRAPH, for use in manufacturing high-efficiency perovskite solar cells. The partnership aims to enhance the performance, durability, and cost-efficiency of perovskite cells as an alternative to silicon-based solar technology. Halocell will utilize PureGRAPH® as a coating material, improving the cells’ efficiency and reducing costs by eliminating expensive components like gold and silver. The companies plan to use a roll-to-roll dispersion technique for scalable production. Supported by AUD 2 million from the Australian Government and Queensland University of Technology, the collaboration aims to commercialize the technology within three years, addressing the global perovskite solar market valued at AUD 95 million.
