Malaysia based Sunview Group Berhad, a prominent renewable energy player, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview SdnBhd, is collaborating with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on two solar energy projects. According to the company, the projects involve developing large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Sunview will design, engineer, procure, and construct a 400 MWac PV plant with a 100 MW/200 MWh BESS in Andijan and a 200 MWac PV plant with a 50 MW/100 MWh BESS in Fergana. The company will also serve as the investor and asset owner for these projects. These initiatives aim to accelerate Uzbekistan's transition to renewable energy, targeting a 40% contribution from renewable sources by 2030.
