Ethical Power has secured planning consent for a 65 MW PV project, Buckleys Road Solar Farm, in Selwyn District, near Christchurch, New Zealand. The project spans 104 hectares of solar arrays on a 111-hectare site, generating 100GWh annually. It includes 140,000 single-axis tracking modules, 13 inverters, and a battery energy storage system (BESS). The site, adjacent to the Brookside 66kV substation, will also support sheep grazing. Ethical Power collaborated with TeTaumutu Runanga to preserve cultural values, incorporating a MaoriWähi Taonga Site in the design. This project aligns with recent agreements by Aquila Clean Energy and Genesis Energy to boost New Zealand's solar capacity.
