Entergy Arkansas acquires Invenergy’s Walnut Bend, launching a 100-MW PV facility

US-based Entergy Arkansas has commenced commercial operations at the Walnut Bend Solar Energy Center, a 100 MW facility in Lee County. Acquired from Invenergy, a developer, owner and operator of sustainable energy solutions, Walnut Bend employs bifacial solar panels and advanced sun-tracking racking systems to optimize energy production. The facility is expected to generate $700,000 annually in property taxes for the county and is the fourth solar plant Entergy Arkansas has put into service. Together with its other PV facilities, Walnut Bend brings the utility’s total solar capacity to 381 MW. Entergy Arkansas will expand this capacity further in 2024 and 2025 with additional solar projects.
