Italy-based Enel Green Power, part of Enel Colombia, began construction of the Guayepo III and Atlántico solar parks in Atlántico, Colombia. Together, the projects involved an investment of $1.7 billion pesos and a combined capacity of 399.5 MW (AC). Once operational, they were expected to generate approximately 1,073 GWh annually, supplying energy to around 1.5 million people, similar to the population of Barranquilla. Construction of Guayepo III in Ponedera started in August, featuring 457,764 bifacial panels producing 547.63 GWh yearly. The Atlántico park, located in Sabanalarga and Usiacurí, began in November and included 403,920 panels generating 524.96 GWh annually. The projects aimed to create over 1,000 jobs and included advanced solar trackers and transformers to optimize energy delivery.
