Zelestra, a Spain-based renewable energy developer, has secured 60 MW in Italy. The company won all eight projects submitted to the FER X auction process, Italy’s tenth “Incentive Framework for Renewables” auction, managed by Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE). Eighty percent of this awarded capacity is situated across Northern Italy’s development zones. The auction, administered by Italian energy agency GSE received 818 project applications. These applications represented nearly 10 GW of PV capacity seeking contractual awards. Zelestra intends to commission all eight awarded plants by the end of H1 2028. Its Italian pipeline includes more than 1.4 GW of battery storage and solar projects. A recent initial offtake agreement supports development of a 2 GWh BESS project. The company manages a portfolio of 32 GW globally, with 6.8 GW currently contracted or progressing. Prior to this update, Zelestra had commenced commercial activity at the Socovos II plant.
