Spain-based Zelestra and Graphic Packaging has inaugurated the 50.4 MW (DC) José Cabrera solar plant in Pastrana, marking operational start under their long-term PPA in Spain. The project is part of a three-site portfolio, with Socovos II already active and Villamañán scheduled for completion by year end. The plant is designed to produce 83 GWh yearly, supplying electricity equivalent to 24,000 homes while avoiding 11,500 tons of CO₂ annually. Zelestra has implemented environmental measures that include habitat monitoring and vegetation restoration around nearby areas. About 200 people worked on the project during construction. Zelestra now has nearly 600 MW running in Castilla-La Mancha and a project pipeline of 6 GW across Spain. Recently, Zelestra built on its expansion efforts, as the company had earlier signed a 95.7 MW solar PPA with Microsoft in Aragón.
