Alight, a Nordic solar developer and IPP, has secured GBP 34 million (~ $46.6 million) in portfolio financing from SEB to build and operate behind-the-meter PV installations in the UK. The financing facility supports Alight’s portfolio of behind-the-meter projects serving C&I customers. The company has stated that the portfolio comprises more than 50 MW of PV capacity, with projects expected to be commissioned no later than 2027. The installations are built on or adjacent to customer sites and are located on the consumer side of the utility meter, with electricity primarily consumed on-site. Alight has stated that the projects are backed by long-term PPAs with C&I customers. SEB has previously provided financing for Alight’s utility-scale PV parks in Sweden and Finland and has supported Alight’s acquisition of the Lidso solar park in Denmark. According to the announcement, the financing facility provides a scalable platform to support further development of Alight’s behind-the-meter PV portfolio in the UK.
