Alight, a Nordic solar developer and IPP, has officially commissioned the 215 MW Lidsø solar park in Denmark. The 253-hectare agrivoltaic project was acquired from developer European Energy. The acquisition was made possible by €127 million in debt financing from SEB and SEK. This 350,000-panel solar park marks the second largest solar park operating across Denmark. DSB, Denmark's state-owned railway company, has signed a long-term PPA for the energy generated. CEO Warren Campbell has stated the park is an important part of Denmark’s energy transition and strengthens their Nordic position. Prior to this update, 3Flash and Alight had obtained EU support for a 120 MW solar-storage development.
