Norway based Scatec ASA has reached financial close and starts construction of its 190 MW “Dobrun & Sadova” solar portfolio in southern Romania. About 70% of the electricity is supported by a 15-year CfD with Opcom, while the rest is sold in the Romanian wholesale market. The total investment is approximately €121 million (~ $143.64 million) and is financed through project debt and equity from lenders including the European Investment Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Banca Comercială Română. Scatec owns 65% of the projects and Defic Globe holds 35% and delivers EPC, with commercial operation expected in the second half of 2027. Recently in southern Africa Scatec ASA’s Release has made 21 MW Motheo solar agreement in Botswana.
