RWE, headquartered in Essen, Germany, had four projects awarded contracts for difference in Italy’s Fonti Energetiche Rinnovabili – X (FER X) auction. The awards supported new wind and solar capacity across multiple regions. The Ponte Valentino 1 and 2 solar plants in Campania were designed with 32,000 modules and 17.65 MW (AC) while the Carcitella Agri PV project in Sicily included 13,000 modules and 8 MW (AC). The Serra Giannina wind farm in Basilicata was planned with six turbines and 42 MW. All awarded projects were scheduled for construction in 2026. RWE operated 17 onshore wind farms totalling 598 MW and managed Agri PV plants Morcone and Acquafredda in Campania. It was also building the Serra Palino and Venusia wind farms and had secured three additional Agri PV projects totalling 30.2 MW. Recently, the company had commissioned the 200 MW Stoneridge project in Texas, adding further scale to its growing regional project base.
