Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, together with National Grid Electricity Distribution, has announced the successful grid connection of the 20 MW Court Barton Solar Farm. The project is located near Coffinswell in South Devon. The site was connected to National Grid Electricity Distribution's (NGED) 33 kV network following 11 months of engineering works, including a new substation and underground cabling. Once operational, the project was expected to generate electricity for around 8,500 homes annually and reduce more than 6,200 tons of CO₂ each year. The project also received a 15-year Contract for Difference from the Low Carbon Contracts Company on behalf of the UK Government. Full commercial operation was scheduled for 2026.Recently, Recurrent Energy also advanced the Tillbridge Development Consent Order approval process for its solar project in Lincolnshire.
