European Energy, a Denmark-based developer of renewable energy projects, has announced its final investment decision for the 225 MW agri-PV solar park near Vizzini in Sicily. The agri-PV facility was authorised in 2023, and has recently secured a Contract for Difference through Italy's FERX auction to ensure long-term revenue stability. Elevated PV structures on the site integrate utility-scale solar generation with ongoing agricultural activities across the same farmland. This dual-use installation is scheduled to become Italy's largest solar park by the end of 2027, exceeding the company's prior Troia project connected to the grid in 2022.
