Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, an energy infrastructure fund manager, has agreed to acquire Ørsted, a renewable energy developer, both being Denmark-based. The deal covers over 800 MW of assets located in Ireland, the UK, Germany, and Spain, the statement said. The acquired European onshore business comprises 578 MW of operational assets and 248 MW currently under construction. These assets are supported by a multi-gigawatt development pipeline spanning multiple European power markets. After completion, the onshore business is set to function as an independent platform under a new corporate identity. The companies noted that closing is planned for Q2 2026, subject to customary regulatory conditions. Copenhagen Infrastructure V reached final close in March 2025 and has exceeded its $14 billion target. The fund has potential commitments totaling around $27 billion across a range of energy infrastructure regions. Recently, Ampliform has secured a $165 million financing facility from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to develop solar projects across major US power grids.
