EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA) and Walmart Inc. have recently finalized a 15-year PPA for a portion of a new 180MW solar project in Texas. Walmart will be purchasing 162 MW of the energy generated from the project, adding to its existing procurement of renewable energy from EDPR NA projects. The new utility-scale project is estimated to power more than 27,000 homes annually in Texas andis also projected to create 300 full-time equivalent jobs during construction and three permanent operations jobs.
