The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is funding a 10 MW solar power plant in Tunisia’s Feriana region, advancing renewable energy. The project, supported by a €3.9 million EBRD loan and up to €1 million from Finland through the EBRD’s High Impact Partnership on Climate Action (HIPCA), benefits Centrale Solaire Feriana B, owned by Qair, a leading European renewable energy company. This initiative, part of Tunisia’s renewable energy framework, will reduce CO2e emissions by 8,560 tonnes annually. Qair, with a 1.4 GW portfolio, secured this project through a transparent tender process. Over seven years, EBRD has invested €2.2 billion in 70 Tunisian projects and aided 1,200 small and medium-sized enterprises with European Union-funded technical assistance.
