The Danish State Railways (DSB) has partnered with European Energy to construct a new solar park at Rødby Harbour, set to begin after summer holidays of Lolland Municipality. The Lidsø Solar Park, covering 253 hectares and leased from three landowners for 30 years, will be one of Denmark’s largest. Upon completion in 2025, it is expected to produce 262 GWh annually, enough to power nearly 65,000 households. DSB will purchase 80 GWh, approximately 50% of its current electricity consumption for Copenhagen’s light rail network. The company aims to reduce its climate impact by 98% by 2030 compared to 2019.
