Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Inc. (PSEI), a Canada-based division of Power Sustainable, has acquired a 50% stake in the Desert Quartzite Solar+Storage Project in Riverside County, California. According to PSEI, this marks its largest investment to date, made in partnership with its developer and operator, Potentia Renewables Inc and EDF Renewables North America, a US-based subsidiary of EDF. The project will generate 300 MW of solar energy, coupled with a 150 MW/4-hour battery storage system. The electricity will be supplied to Clean Power Alliance, serving 35 communities in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties under a 20-year PPA. As per PSEI, the final investment phase will close upon the project’s commercial operation by year-end. EDF Renewables North America will manage long-term operations and maintenance. This collaboration is EDF Renewables’ first with PSEI in California’s utility-scale market.
