Datong City kicks off the Shanxi Jinbei coal mining subsidence area’s new energy base project, a key initiative for the “dual carbon” target. This project, part of China’s 12 large-scale renewable energy bases, plans a 55 billion yuan investment for 6 GW of wind power and PV projects with 3.4 million kWh energy storage. Expected to be operational by late 2025, it will serve Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei annually.
