ContourGlobal has made its first move into the US renewable energy market by acquiring a 151 MW solar portfolio in South Carolina from solar and battery storage developer Sun Tribe Development. The portfolio consists of two solar projects, both of which have secured long-term PPAs and completed grid interconnection studies. Commercial operations are expected to commence in 2029. At peak capacity, the two plants will generate over 272,000 MWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power almost 26,000 US households. The company claims the green energy produced will prevent nearly 109,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year. ContourGlobal will be responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the plants. CRC-IB served as ContourGlobal’s exclusive buy-side advisor with EOS Capital representing Sun Tribe on the sell-side.
