Walmart commits to green energy in Michigan

Consumers Energy has partnered with Walmart Inc., to power 44 Michigan Walmart locations with clean energy. Walmart will match 90% of its energy use at these locations with renewable energy from future Michigan projects. This expands Consumers Energy’s program, now serving over 30 businesses with nearly 600 MW of clean energy, enough to power 66,000 homes annually and reduce emissions equivalent to 120,000 cars. The program offers local, cost-effective solutions for businesses, supporting Michigan jobs and sustainability goals. As Michigan’s largest energy provider, Consumers Energy serves 6.8 million residents in the Lower Peninsula.
