Consumers Energy to build 2.5 MW Blackman PV project in Michigan

Consumers Energy plans to break ground its 2.5 MW Blackman Solar community solar project, a 30-acre community solar array located in Jackson County, Michigan. This project will be part of Consumers Energy’s broader Solar Gardens program and has received approval from Blackman Township. The project will provide renewable electricity for 2,500 future Solar Gardens customers, allowing customers to support the projects without owning solar arrays. Blackman Solar will include nearly 5,000 solar panels. The project will also expand the MI Sunrise program, providing income-qualified municipalities, nonprofits, and tribal governments with access to affordable, clean energy.
