UK headquartered Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has announced it is on track to achieve its target of using 100% renewable electricity at its Australian operations by January 1, 2025, one year ahead of schedule. The company, which joined the RE100 initiative in 2021, attributes this milestone to its new 10-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with global renewable energy provider ENGIE. Under this agreement, CCEP will purchase Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) from Lightsource bp’s new Wellington North Solar Farm, which spans 970 hectares and generates 925,000 MWh annually. CCEP’s renewable energy commitment supports its goal to achieve net-zero emissions in Australia by 2040.
