CIP acquires majority share in Elgin Energy

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has recently acquired a majority stake in Elgin Energy for £250 million. This investment is aimed at supporting Elgin’s growth as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in renewable energy. Elgin Energy has a portfolio of 15 GW, focusing on solar and battery storage projects in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. The partnership between CIP and Elgin is expected to benefit from CIP’s expertise in procurement and construction, strengthening Elgin’s financial position and market presence. CIP, known for its leadership in renewable energy investments, manages 12 funds totaling EUR 28 billion.
