IPRdaily ranks Trinasolar first in perovskite patent filings

Trinasolar, a global provider of solar energy solutions, has ranked first in the Global Perovskite Solar Cell Invention Patent Ranking by IPRdaily, with 481 patent applications. It also placed second in the global solar cell and module, and TOPCon solar cell patent rankings. Rankings were based on keyword and classification data of invention patents published globally in the past 10 years. Trinasolar filed the highest number of perovskite-related patents, having increased its focus on technology since 2014. It established a State Key Laboratory for PV Science and Technology and co-founded an innovation center with over 10 partners. The company achieved record-breaking efficiency, and power results this year in perovskite-silicon tandem cells. IPRdaily noted TOPCon’s compatibility as a bottom cell in tandem designs, with Trinasolar filing 82.78% of its TOPCon patents in the last three years. The 1.3 GW solar-storage plant using Trinasolar Vertex N modules aligns with Trinasolar.
